Ramin Abbassi

Having Ramin as a teacher has greatly strengthened my understanding of Economics. Ramin is able to explain new economic concepts in depth while keeping them easy to understand, and uses real world examples to strengthen my understanding of every topic. Ramin has also helped me improve my essay writing skills by clearly explaining what examiners look for and how to approach each type of exam question. Most importantly, when going over essays, Ramin often challenges the points I make in order to consider alternate perspectives in an argument, which has taught me to be more evaluative and think like an economist. Finally, it is clear to see Ramin believes in all of his students and genuinely cares about their successes. With his support, I managed to achieve an A* in A-Level Economics and plan to study it further at university.

The way Ramin teaches truly deepened my interest in economics. He dives deeper into the theory behind basic principles rather than staying at surface level, which means he can teach both: students looking to solidify the basics, and those who want the higher grades and the knowledge of theories that many other students wouldn't have had access to or understood. His teaching differs in a way from most other teachers as he has a true passion for the subject and understands specific needs for his students, such as myself who started college struggling with economics. Through Ramin I was able to excel, enjoy economics, and achieve an A*, allowing me to continue studying economics at the University of Bath.

I can only give Ramin the highest praise in his teaching. Most specifically, his fantastic feedback and the support he gives after essay practice. With my own experience of having Ramin give feedback one-on-one, he very quickly helped boost my exam technique. With that guidance, he helped me attain an A in A-Level Economics, which has given me the confidence to study Economics and International Development at the University of Bath.

Ramin's exam technique, content-focused teaching style, and revision resources made it easy for me to understand how to answer the questions to get as many marks as possible. Also, his experience in industry meant he could teach beyond the specification, which boosted my A-Level answers and gave me a huge head start at university studying Accounting and Finance.

I found topics such as financial markets in macroeconomics very difficult at first, but Ramin's clear explanations and engaging teaching style helped me grasp the concepts much more easily. With his guidance and support, I was able to achieve an A in Economics, and I'm now going on to study Accounting and Finance at the University of York. I would highly recommend Ramin to anyone looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, supportive and enjoyable to learn from.

Ramin taught me macroeconomics in lower sixth. His teaching really helped me understand economic theory far beyond surface level, as he helped me understand the deeper origins and roots of where it came from and, most importantly, how and where it is applied in real world economies. This was vital in allowing me to apply theory to actual economic problems and essays. Alongside his great individual feedback on each essay, this helped me achieve an A in Economics, allowing me to study Management at the University of Bath.

Ramin has helped me immensely in just a year of teaching. He grew my confidence by helping me to develop my chains of analysis, rather than just knowing the content. He engaged my critical thinking skills through after-class discussions, which were crucial in mastering my evaluation technique. I owe my A in A-Level Economics to Ramin, allowing me to study Economics at Exeter next year. I cannot speak highly enough of his teaching.

Ramin was my economics teacher for both years of A-Level and throughout that time he was extremely helpful. In the first year I struggled with essay technique, but Ramin helped me perfect it by marking and thoroughly correcting any essays I handed in, giving detailed advice on each one. He also furthered my knowledge of the course, providing resources and reading beyond what the specification required. Ramin has been a great teacher throughout Year 13. He is great at adjusting the speed of teaching in accordance with your knowledge, and will strengthen any weak areas. For example, I initially struggled with exam technique, however through mock tests and essay plans I was able to diagnose any issues, allowing me to achieve an A in the final exam. I am now going to study at the University of Nottingham. Ramin is highly qualified and I thank him for his teaching.

Ramin is a very enthusiastic teacher with a clear passion for economics. His support goes above and beyond the classroom, offering individual feedback sessions particularly towards exam season.
